Origami — Editorial App

CONCEPT

Origami reimagines long-form reading on mobile. Rather than paginating articles, the interface folds and unfolds sections through a single continuous gesture — letting readers control pace and depth without ever leaving the page. This concept explores the fold mechanic from early paper-prototyping through to high-fidelity screens.

SELF-REVIEW

This is a concept exploration, not a shipped product. The fold gesture reads clearly in these mockups, but that's a low bar — it hasn't been tested against real articles of varying length, or with users who aren't already primed to expect a fold metaphor. The biggest open question is accessibility: a gesture-driven reveal like this needs a coherent VoiceOver/switch-control equivalent, and I haven't designed one. I'd want a working prototype before claiming the interaction is actually better than a plain scroll.
